Works Cited Help

When writing a report, it is very important to correctly cite the sources you have used. This guide utilizes the MLA (Modern Language Association) format. Your citations should be double-spaced and arranged in alphabetical order. The first line of each citation should begin at the margin, with other lines indented 1/2 inch. This is called "hanging indention.

Your finished bibliography should look like this sample of a Works Cited page.

For History Fair, you need to prepare an annotated bibliography with your citations divided into primary sources and secondary sources. In an annotated bibliography, after each citation, you must give a description of your source and how you used it.

Note: You should always check with your teacher for information concerning works cited. Some teachers may require a format different from the examples.

BOOKS WITH ONE AUTHOR:

EXAMPLE:

BOOKS WITH TWO AUTHORS:

Author's Last Name, First Name, and First Name Last Name of other Author.

BOOKS WITH AN EDITOR, NO AUTHOR
