The Name That Book Contest is a highly competitive event sponsored by H.I.S.D.'s Library Services Department each spring.  Coached by Mrs. Taylor, students who have chosen to be in the Name That Book Club read books from the Name That Book Middle School List and practice in the library during third period/lunch on Wednesdays.  Early in the second semester six students and a alternate are chosen to represent Pershing at the district contest.  
    Students in Name That Book have also enjoyed becoming "reading buddies" to Kindergarten students from Mark Twain.  They regularly visited and read to their younger buddies.
