The Name That Book Contest is a highly competitive event sponsored by H.I.S.D.'s Library Services Department each spring.  Coached by the librarians, students who have chosen Name That Book as an elective prepare by reading the books from the Name That Book Middle School List and practicing in the library during their elective (sixth period). 
  In the past, our students' hard work has paid off!  The Pershing team placed second in finals of the District competition in 2006. The team placed first in the district in 2005,  second in 2004, and first in 2003.  Pershing has progressed to the finals of Name That Book every year for the past ten years!
