Citation Guide for Works Cited

When writing a report, it is important to correctly cite the sources you have used. This guide utilizes the MLA (Modern Language Association) format. Your citations should be double-spaced and arranged in alphabetical order. The first line of each citation should begin at the margin, with other lines indented 1/2 inch.

BOOKS WITH ONE AUTHOR:
Author's Last Name, First Name. Title of Book. City of Publication:
        Name of Publisher, Date of publication.
EXAMPLE:
Johnson, Dana. Holidays around the World. New York: McMillan Press,
        2000.
BOOKS WITH TWO AUTHORS:
Author's Last Name, First Name, and First Name Last Name of other Author.
        Title of Book. City of Publication: Name of Publisher, Date of publication.
EXAMPLE:
Fredrick, Carlton, and Herman Goodman. Low Blood Sugar and You. New York:
        Constellation International, 1998.
 BOOKS WITH AN EDITOR, NO AUTHOR
Editor's Last Name, First Name, ed. Title of Book . City of Publication:
        Name of Publisher, Date of publication.
EXAMPLE:

Holcolmb, Brian, ed. Baseball Celebration. Chicago: Harcourt, 1999.

  WELL KNOWN REFERENCE WORKS WITH REGULARLY PUBLISHED EDITIONS
